Intro to Nose Work I - 6 Weeks - 1 Hour

Fundamentals of searching, right for all scent work competition venues. This class is intended to nurture and harness your dog’s natural ability to hunt. With emphasis on building desire and drive to work independently and confidently.

Intro to Nose Work II - 6 weeks - 1 Hour

New challenges will be introduced, focusing on the skills needed to increase your dog’s problem-solving abilities. Additional emphasis is placed on building the handler’s observations skills and leash work. Locations may vary.

Intro to Nose Work III- 6 Weeks- 1 Hours

This class is designed to continue to build confidence, drive and motivation for the dog and confidence in the handler searching in more challenging environments, as we continue to expand the dog’s problem-solving skills . Prerequisites, successful completion of Nose Work I,II, and II or Instructor approval.

Intro to Odor - 6 Weeks - 1 Hour

Building on the successful completion of Intro to Nose Work we will transfer their enthusiasm and drive for “hunting” target odor while continuing to build independence confidence and problem-solving skills.

Odor Foundations I - 6 Weeks -1 Hour

Prerequisites: Completed Intro to Odor, dog must exhibit minimum proficiency in odor recognition. This class will expand your dog’s problem-solving ability while maintaining drive and independence. Appropriate for all Scent Work Venues.

Odor Foundations II - 6 Weeks -1 Hour

Prerequisite: Complete Odor Foundations 1 or instructor approval. This class will expand your dog’s problem-solving ability and and your ability to work as a team. Appropriate for all Scent Work Venues. Emphasis on the handlers observation skills and ability to confidently call “alerts”.

Odor Foundations III - 4 Weeks - 1 Hour

Prerequisites- On all three odors, searching independently in novel environments. Completion of Odor Foundations I and II. Emphasis on strengthening your dog’s ability to solve challenging odor puzzles in detracting environments, under time constraints. (NACSW ORT, NW1 and Novice all scent work venues) Locations may vary.

Competition Skills I - 4 Weeks - 1 Hour

Prerequisites- On all three odors, completions of Completion of Odor Foundations I,II & lll or instruction approval. Emphasis on team work and the handlers ability to confidently call “Alert”. ( ORT, NW1, and AKC Novice etc) .

Competition Skills II - 4 Weeks - 1 Hour

Prerequisites- On all three odors, completions of Competition Skills I or Instructor approval. Preparation for confidently meeting the new challenges presented as you advance. Review and development of the skills needed to succeed. High hides, converging odor, inaccessible hides and close proximity hides, etc. ) Locations may vary. (NW2, AKC Advance and more)

Training With Purpose - 4 Weeks - 1 Hour

Dogs must be on 3 Odors for 6 months Or Instructor approval. This class is intended to aid you in recognizing your strengths and weaknesses and guide you in developing training plans to improve and maintain your competition skills. Converging odor, elevations, close proximity hides, pooling odor,blowing odor and inaccessible hides are all needed skills for both team and handler. We will continue to develop these skills for both dog and handler working in novel areas, under time constraints, in all weather conditions.

Handler’s Choice 4 weeks - 30 to 45 Minutes
Class designed by you to fit specific training needs or goals or needs. AKC, CPE PSD, NACSW, all competition levels skills addressed. Semi-private sessions maximum 2 dogs and 2 Handlers.
